WIDE CHOICE OF ROOFING MATERIALS

When it comes to residential properties, we’re familiar with roof materials and will help you choose one that is suitable for your budget and the overall look of your home.

Whether you’re interested in classic ceramic shingles or asphalt shingles, we will give our best to ensure you get a fair price and that all your roofing needs are covered.

Asphalt shingles

Asphalt Shingles

Asphalt is incredibly durable and affordable. It has a pretty short lifespan. In the best case scenario, your new asphalt shingle roof will last for 20 years. Unfortunately, its lifespan is 20 years at most. Older asphalt roofs may need serious repairs, and when they do, our residential roofing contractors can help.

Clay Tile

Clay Tile

Clay tiles are a durable and affordable material that blends in with the San Diego roofing landscape. They’re also fireproof, which is a big plus during fire season. Contact our roofing specialists to learn more. We don’t recommend using clay tiles in your commercial roofing systems since they’re difficult to with all the HVAC equipment in the way.

Concrete Tiles

Concrete Tile

Concrete tiles are pricier than clay, but they’re sustainable and recyclable. Concrete tiles are available in a wide selection of styles and colors, which our San Diego roofing customers love.

With San Diego County Roofing & Solar, we treat your home as if were ours. We take care to protect your home from any debris that might fall during the roofing process. We exceed roofing industry standards by making sure your new roof will keep out moisture and withstand any weather damage. A new roofing installation shouldn’t be taken lightly. Trust our San Diego roofing contractor team to provide a trustworthy service.

There’s no residential roofing or commercial roofing project that’s too small for our team of San Diego roofing experts. Here are signs it’s time to call us in for a repair.

A san diego roof with cracked shingles

Broken Tiles

Heavy storms, excessive sunlight, moss, mold, and mildew can cause your roof to crack and moisture to seep in. Whatever the issue is, you need to repair any cracked shingles as soon as possible to prevent any further damage. We recommend that broken roof tiles are replaced as soon as possible.

water leaking through shingles

Roof Leak Repair

Leaks can seem more like a nuisance than a major problem. However, they can be quite dangerous. Increased moisture threatens the structural integrity of your whole home. It doesn’t rain often in San Diego, but when it rains, it pours. Leaks also help create an ideal environment for dangerous molds and bacteria to grow. This can be a serious health risk to your family, especially if someone has respiratory issues.

Wind damaged roof repairs

Wind damage

Wind damage from storms can loosen and remove shingles or tiles from San Diego roofing. Even gusts as low as 50 MPH can put you at risk of damage. This is why it’s crucial you inspect your roof after every serious storm. If you notice any cracks, or shingles missing, give us a call so our roofing professionals can have it fixed as soon as possible.

Damaged residential roof

Debris Damage

The worst damage in San Diego comes from flying debris during a storm. Even a small branch can tear off gutters, damage the soffit, or cracked roof tiles. Debris damage should be repaired as soon as possible to prevent further damage from leaks and accumulated moisture.

We couldn't be happier with the job that San Diego County Roofing just did at our house. We needed to have the shingle roof on our house replaced. We initially got several bids. Dylan did the bid for this company. The bids from the different companies all came in at nearly identical prices, and we were impressed that San Diego County Roofing seemed like a serious company who would do a good job. Dylan was great: he was very thorough, and he seemed honest (and never tried to get me to buy anything I didn't need). He was also very professional and easy to reach. When it came time for the actual job, Edgar was the foreman. He was excellent: professional and attentive, and a pleasure to work with. He made clear that a top priority was to make sure that we were satisfied with all aspects of the job. The team at our house worked quickly, and the new roof looks great. In summary, Dylan and Edgar were both exceptional, and I would recommend this company to anyone looking to have similar work done.

I had a leak around my skylight. I got several quotes and all of them were pretty much the same, and very expensive solutions. I then called SDCR and talked to Troy. Troy came to my home and spent quite some time surveying the roof and felt he knew what the problem was. Troy gave me a couple of options. They found the problem repaired it and I saved a lot of money. Cheers!!!

We got 4 estimates to "Lift and Relay" the tiles on our roof. One roofer said our concrete tiles were near the end of their useful life, while all the other roofers contradicted that. Of the estimates Troy's (the co-owner) was the best. He updated me throughout the process, and when he didn't, he apologized. Not a big deal, they were minor items. The crew arrived on time, were polite and professional. One thing we really liked is that they cleaned up everyday when they were done. We really appreciated this, since we have 3 dogs who like to wander around in our backyard. They answered all my questions, finished as scheduled and repainted the replaced wood. The amount of wood that needed replacement was minimal, and they could have charged a lot more, and we wouldn't have known if it was needed or not. Overall, I'd say they are an honest, reliable roofing company. I wanted to wait until after it rained to see if there were any obvious roof problems before submitting this review, well it has rained, and to the untrained eye, everything looks great. I wouldn't hesitate to use San Diego County Roofing again, and I highly recommend them. Thanks Troy and Edgar for a job well done.

Not knowing a lot about roofing, I did a lot of research. There are many stories about being taken advantage of, but it is still difficult to be sure. I came down to four companies from whom to get estimates, based on their websites, reviews, and telephone discussions. We had a tile roof that was 30 years old. I couldn't see how tile could deteriorate much in 100 years, let alone 30. I learned from the research, however, that it wasn't the tile, but what lay beneath. I gave the four my requirements: proven technology, no leaks, met code, able to accommodate a solar system, and work with the solar installation team. Of the four, one came back with an estimate to replace everything, including the tile (I didn't believe I needed to replace that, and it cost about $2,000 more). The others came back with a "lift and re-lay," replace the underlayment, and other work as needed. One proposed a new technology. Since I am trained in some of the relevant technologies, I called the manufacturer and asked some very technical questions, which they answered honestly (to their credit) – I ended up not choosing that bidder. Of the other two, one just offered a cursory estimate. He was late for his appointment – and, after two hours, called to reschedule. Nearing the time of his appointment again, he called and said that because of rain he did not feel safe getting on the roof. I rejected his bid based on his commitment to keeping schedules, his lack of transparency, and customer engagement. The first to respond was San Diego County Roofing (so, everyone else was compared to them, luckily). Dylon, the estimator, was courteous, paid attention to detail, and answered all my questions fully. He went through the attic to check to see if everything was up to code. Dylon got up on the roof to check for potential problems. One such was our chimney. It turns out the code had changed and he had to add in a small charge for a different flashing to accommodate. I asked about working with a solar company. The solar company wanted to take measurements, mark out the panel installation, and have the roofer install stanchions and their flashing, part way through the roofing project. Dylon said no problem. He said that they would also install more, smaller vents (turned out to be very cheap). Dylon was very knowledgeable, took the time necessary for a good estimate, provided a detailed proposal, and, best of all, listened to my requirements and concerns. The virus pandemic occurred about the time we were going to start. The solar people had asked to postpone for a month. SD County Roofing was able to accommodate that request and was more than happy to coordinate directly with the solar company. During the installation, all the workers on the installation team were friendly, courteous, and very respectful of virus precautions. It went quickly and according to the schedule laid out in the proposal. They lifted the tile, checked for rot on wood sheathing and fascia, installed a sheet metal cricket for the chimney to meet code, and installed new low visibility ember resistant vents. They then paused to allow the solar company to make their measurements and deliver the stanchions and flashing. SD County Roofing then installed the stanchions, flashing, and re-laid the tile roof – with extra-long nails to ensure the solar team did not cause the tiles to move during their installation. The team was fast, efficient, and a pleasure to have around. It has only been a month since the installation, but I will report back should any concerns arise. I highly recommend San Diego County Roofing – they were knowledgeable, transparent, willing to answer questions and provide detailed answers, courteous, and took good virus precautions.

Couldn't be happier with choosing SD county roofing. We got quotes from 4 companies and while this wasn't the cheapest quote, it was by far the most professional and considerate of them all. That led us to select Troy, Edgar and Dylan's company for our historic home's roof. What started as a small inquiry into the state of our roof as I suspected we may have a leak, turned into a massive job completely repairing about 1/3 of our roofing frame. It's never fun to get a quote on a project only to tear off the existing roof and see your sub roof completely rotted and useless....BUT Edgar and Troy (owners of the company) walked us through everything that was wrong and worked out some options for us to fix things the right way while keeping costs manageable. These things were not noticeable without pulling the roof off, so keep that in mind as you embark on this journey. The crews used with very friendly, courteous, and respectful of our property. We had a couple of accidents cause a broken window (not due to negligence, just a crazy piece of wood with a mind of it's own) but the guys helped us get the window fixed without any added cost to us. Great company, great work (the roof looks outstanding), great quality. Trust these guys, they won't rip you off or let you down...which is a serious risk in this industry.

Roof Replacement in San Diego

If your roof is seriously damaged, we may recommend a partial or full roof replacement. While we try to make small roofing repairs when possible, sometimes that plan falls short. If we feel safety is an issue, we will always recommend installing a new roof.

Replacing your roof can be a stressful experience in San Diego. We try to make our roofing services as worry-free as possible by giving you a clear project timeline and helping you to select the best possible roofing material.

Roof Inspection in San Diego

Getting an inspection every several years is part of home maintenance. When repair is done early, it’s generally simple and cheap to do. However, small problems can cause structural failure if not caught quickly.

We also recommend getting a roofing inspection if you’re selling your property in the San Diego roofing market. A well-maintained roof done by roofing specialists is a great selling point!

Solar Panel Installation

We get over 3,000 hours of sunshine every year in San Diego; why not use it to lower your bills? Installing photovoltaic solar cells with our roofers has the potential to cut your energy bill by as much as 50% every month!

Solar is a green choice as it produces no greenhouse gas emissions. There are also enormous financial advantages. Installing solar is an investment in your home that will reduce your energy bills for years to come. Many panels last 25 years or longer and require minimal maintenance. Installing solar panels also helps boost your home’s value, especially in San Diego.

Why Choose Our Roofing Contractors for Solar Panel Installations?

While solar panels are a great choice and proper installation can help to prolong the life of your roof, it’s important for roofing specialists to perform repair prior to installing the panels. Some solar-only companies will simply patch any imperfections and won’t help you with roofing repair. By going with a San Diego roofing contractor for solar installation, you’ll make sure that any roofing problems are addressed before the panels are put on. We also install solar for commercial roofing. Our roof and solar experts guarantee a quality installation that will last you many years to come. This is an investment that will pay for itself in terms of energy savings!
